Inspired.

If people sat outside and looked at the stars each night, I’ll bet they’d live a lot differently. When you look into infinity, you realize that there are more important things than what people do all day.

Honeymoon Photos - Part 1

I finally uploaded all 400+ photos from the honeymoon today. Excessive, I know. (And then I went through them all sobbing softly that it’s over. Kidding - kinda.)

For the first 7 nights we stayed at Calabash Cove in St. Lucia. We had our own little beach cottage with an amazing wrap around deck, outdoor shower, hammock and plunge pool. Calabash Cove was so private and beautiful, the whole resort only has about 20 or so rooms, so it is never crowded. May was a really slow time for them too, at most there would be about 4 other people at the beach or pool bar at once.

We ended up making friends with the other couples there - since it was so intimate and you all ended up at dinner around the same time. It was funny too, everyone there were honeymooners from a May 10th wedding.

The travel agent didn’t warn us though, that St. Lucia is STEEP. Everything is built on a hillside and from our cottage up to the restaurant was 91 STAIRS. That is breakfast, lunch and dinner you hike up there. It was exhausting. But at the same time we secretly liked that we had no choice but to work off all the drinks we were having every day.

We also opted for the all-inclusive package which proved to be well worth it: I was never without a glass of prosecco in hand all week.

The Pitons. Soufrière, St. Lucia.

Every Caribbean island is unique even as we share so much in common. St. Lucia’s unique qualities come from its Creole/Kwéyòl history and culture, a blend of French, English, African, Asian and the older Amerindian that have become something new in Kwéyòl language and culture. You sense the St. Lucian unique spirit especially in its folk music and dance.
